Acorn Solicitors have partnered with the Zone Youth Club in Burnham on Sea, Somerset to support them as the clubs ownership is being taken over by the parents on a voluntarily basis.
David Sinclair partner at Acorn Solicitors along with some of the other parents has formed a committee and are all working hard to raise funds for the group. David is chairing the management committee.
Acorn sponsored the clubs recent entry to the Brean Splash swimathon which raised £140 for the club and will be supporting the club throughout the year. Below is a picture of David and some of those who took part in the swimathon.
David said “It’s great to support the youth club and we have some really hard working and supportive parents and together we have put in a structure to keep the club running.”
The Zone Youth Club is a youth club for 11-16 year olds that runs 3.30-5.30pm at the BAY centre in Burnham on Sea on Tuesday afternoons during term time. The club regularly has 20 plus youth and is continuing to grow. The charity that currently run the group have had their funding taken away and were set to close the group. Some of the parents have now formed a committee and are employing the youth worker directly so the group can continue to flourish.
The group provides a safe environment for the youth to learn new skills, socialize and have fun.
The next fundraising event for the Zone Youth Club will be a cinema showing of the BFG on the 25th February at the Ritz Cinema Burnham on Sea which will launch a crowdfunding site for the club. For more information or to book tickets please email [email protected] .
