2016 Review What a Year!

David and Jill Sinclair

It is that time of year again and we are reflecting what another excellent year it has been for us.

We started off at the beginning of the year with an ambition to hold our very own Charity Will Month. We met with five different charities that we were eager to support, Age UK Somerset, Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Hope for Tomorrow, SENSE and Taunton Mencap. This resulted in us raising a staggering £4,000 for charity!!

In March, David Sinclair, partner of the firm had one of his ‘brilliant ideas’ that we should raise more money for Age UK Somerset by completing the Tough Mudder, dubbed ‘extreme hell’. We got together a team and we raised over £1,000 for Age UK Somerset by doing this… not so bad after all!

TDBA business award finalists 2016

In June we were nominated as finalists in the Corporate Social Responsibility category at the Taunton Deane Business Awards. This was a fantastic event and a great opportunity to reflect as a firm on our achievements and values. Since we set up our business in 2009 we vowed to become ‘your local solicitor’ who supports their local community. Putting together our application for this award confirmed to us that this is still exactly what we’re all about.

David gave an end of year talk to a secondary school in Bridgwater. We also took part in the Death Café at Musgrove Hospital, getting people to talk more openly about their wishes for when they near the end of their life and eventually die.

In the New Year if you decide to move house we can help with the conveyancing, or if you want to make a Will or Power of Attorney please give us a call or pop in and see us and we would be delighted to help. We are also here to help with probate matters.

We would like to thank all of our clients, past and present for their support over the years and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
