LPA Fees Reduced
The Justice Department has announced that from the 1st October this year the fees will be cut for registering a Lasting Power of Attorney. Reducing the cost from £130 to £110 – this could save couples up to £80 in fees.
An LPA, is a legal document, which allows you to appoint somebody you know and trust to act on your behalf if you become physically or mentally unable to manage your own financial and health affairs in the future. The changes have been made due to an apparent streamlining of the process with new technology and an online application tool.
Here at Acorn we work on a fixed fee basis with no hidden legal charges, we can visit you at your home for free and we can store your LPA free of charge.
It is essential that you take legal specialist advice before making your LPA so that you are fully aware of the consequences of appointing someone to act on your behalf if you become incapable.
