Taunton Deane Business Awards

Last week we were lucky enough to be invited to the Taunton Deane Business Awards at the Somerset County Cricket Ground as finalists in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.

This was a fantastic event and a great opportunity to reflect as a firm on our achievements and values. Since we set up our business in 2009 we vowed to become ‘your local solicitor’ who supports their local community. Putting together our application for this award confirmed to us that this is still exactly what we’re all about. We have so far given over £54,000.00 to various local and national charities. In 2015 we focussed purely on local charities and we are doing the same again this year.

We were honoured to be shortlisted for the award and be recognised for our achievements. We don’t do all this charity work for people to go ‘oh look how much money they have raised’ but it is still nice to receive a pat on the back and someone to tell you ‘well done’.

It was great to see such a variety of local business come together to support their community and each other at the awards night. It makes us proud to be in Taunton providing our friendly services to the people who mean the most to us.

David Sinclair said “We didn’t win but I am very proud of Acorn Solicitors and the money we have raised for the local community. Corporate responsibility is part of our DNA and we will be continuing to support local charities”.

As cliché as it sounds, we would like to say a huge thank you to those who support us and our valuable clients as we wouldn’t be where we are without you (we mean it!).
